Activism Monthly Quotes Freedman on 2014 Proxy Season

Olshan was featured prominently this month in Activist Insight’s Activism Monthly. Both the editor and the article “Proxy Season 2014: A Preview” note that Olshan “tends to be the biggest supporter of activists in proxy fights by the sheer number of cases fought.”  Partner Andrew Freedman is quoted, noting that “proxy fights are more prevalent in the small-cap sector because newcomers see winning them as an important way to mark their entrance to the activist community.” Freedman also predicts that this year is shaping up to be “at least as busy as 2013, if not busier.” So far this year, Olshan’s Activism group has nominated board candidates at 22 companies and settled six contests.
