Freedman Quoted in Law360 Regarding Expert Predictions for Shareholder Activism in 2015

Olshan Activist Partner Andrew Freedman was quoted extensively as an expert in a Law360 article about predictions for the 2015 activist season and the continuing rise and success of shareholder activism. Freedman was quoted as saying that “Based on the early activity during this lead-up to the nomination season, all indications are that 2015 is going to be just as vibrant a proxy season as we saw in 2014.” The article goes on to mention the four factors that will prop up activists in 2015 as Freedman notes “We're certainly in an unprecedented age of shareholder involvement and empowerment and that's undeniable…There's so many more willing participants in this area.”  Regarding bolder campaigns and a series of successful high-profile campaigns for control in 2014 — noting Olshan’s client Starboard Value LP's rare victory in the successful bid of replacing the entire board at Darden Restaurants Inc., Freedman cites “Activist investors' access to highly qualified and highly experienced nominees, consultants and experts is at the highest point it's ever been.”
